U.S. Insurance Shopping Study

The J.D. Power U.S. Insurance Shopping Study is the insurance industry’s go-to-source for insights on consumer auto insurance shopping behavior. Based on over 100,000 consumer responses, and with data spanning the largest 20 carriers, the study examines every phase of the acquisition lifecycle and how each brand is performing relative to its competition.

Over the last 15 years, the landscape among P&C carriers has shifted. This new environment that has experienced low levels of new entrants combined with rising expectations has left insurers in an intense battle to attract and retain customers. This change has also allowed a select few carriers to emerge as leaders, while others have struggled.

In response to these change, the Insurance Shopping Study was recently enhanced to provide new insights into the influences that are shaping modern shopping behaviors, and provide actionable insights on how carriers can capitalize.
